How is representation constructed in the opening sequence?

The gladiator opening sequence is hand running through a beautiful Field then to a Romans battle field which immediately tells us its an action and adventure genre. Its clear theres an important battle about to happen and they all seem very tense though its serious. Its clear they have alot of respect for the main character who is male and looks like a roman epiour, somone which high euthority. They bow down when he walks past which represents that he is in charge of all these troops.

He is defonatly created as the sterotypical male as he has a masclin face with facial hair, he is large with muscle and has dark hair which goes with the stero type for a male and espically in a action and adventure genre. The costume that he is wearing is big heavy amour which suggests he is about to right and he is some kind of army, he has some fur over the top which also tells us he has luxurys and he is higher authortiy than the others so a leader. He has the typical roman skirt of amour and the red underneath which hints its set in the roman times and he is a roman. The sounds  that you can that are diatectic are the men shouting, the horses hoof, the swords and the horse neying. The music in the background is percusion and wind intrustments suttlerly in the background but gets louder as the battles about to begin. The editing used is cross cut its used to show the whole picture of where they are. Theres very little speech as its a tense moment and they are focusing for battle. But the main character talks to the men on horses and he comes across as the hero he talks in heroic manner and the contex of what he's talking about. He has little gesture and posture as he is clearly hind his emtions and comming across as the tough warrior and hero.
