Production log

 8/09/2012 Planning

Today we talked about and plan the production as a group and we have got some ideas but some of them seem like they might be a little bit diffcult to create. So we are going to re think it all but we want to get this done soon as it will waste time otherwise. Theres many things we could do we have put it all down on paper to ensure we dont forget any of it, we need to consider the locations, the actors and actresses and the props for this all need to be taken into consideration. This was the first production log I have made and we have many.

10/09/2012  Reasearch- IDEAS FOR OPENING SEQUENCE
Today we looked at creating an opening to a film including titles and credits, to give us ideas on the film opening we could do , I will be working with Jenny Adams and Amber savile. In order to create the opening credits, we need to have a look at the different ones ont he website to give us ideas and we brain storm from them. We also looked at Love Actually. This opneing sequence was set in Heathrow airport however it is not the type of genre that we are doing. This was a rom com and we are doing a thriller opening. A film opening that is also set in Heathrow was Dirty Pretty Things which is a thriller so was more suitable for our group.


12/09/2012 reseach- IDEAS FOR OPENING SEQUENCE
Today we looked at two short openings one was Dont look now and the other was the girl with the dragon tatto. The dont look now was was form the 90's and had that thriller feel to it which was created with the tense classical music which gave it a tense feel. It ends with the little girl falling the pond which is a very horror/ thriller like opening but doesnt give too much away. This is manly created by the music and camera angles.


2/10/12 Planning -  Ideas for opening sequence
Today in class my group looked at the production and what are plans were we have now finally written it out for the final ideas of whats going to happen. We talked as a class about how we can make in convincing at what possble settings we could use for the mise-en-scene. This has helped my group to work out were we could do the filming as this can be quiet a challenge if you cant find somwere.

03/10/12 planning- PLANNING + RESEARCH - COLLECTING IMAGES

In class I looked at pintreset and scoopit which both gave me ideas on how I could present my reseach on the blog. I also had a look on the major news wesites such as bbc to look at the illegal ivory tracde which showed me how serious it was and it gave us some ideas to do with our production. I decided to start collecting ideas and images for my mise-en-scene. First, i investiaged online "pinboard" sites for housing my reseach such as tumblr and flicker in the end I decided to make a page on a word docment

04/10/12 planning- LOOKING AT PROPS
Today in class I looked for dressing tables for bit to get an idea of what kinda of setting it will have, I took a photo of our story board and tryed to email to my self but it didnt work so when get home I will put it on later. I looked online to see how I could obtain the props online as this is the cheapest and easyest place to get it. I will descuse the bugdet with my group to see how much we can all spend. I am considering making a tumblr for this production. In the end i created a tumblr which was very helpful to ensure we used up to date ways of showing what we were up to. The charcters in my film are just the police lady shes the only character feature the opening is all about her. It is set in todays earea as what the whole thing is about is a very much modern day issue. The female is a moderen day police lady she is dressed in modern day police lady clothing. My target audience is aimed at 16-30 year old males and females. They most likely watch thrillers and action and adventure genres and have the lasest gadgets.

11/10/10 planning- story board

Today we had a brain storm that she could have a flash back to the airport and her xraying the baggive and finding some ivory and removing it to represent that ivory trade that she got into. This would be perfect to show our skills in photoshop and to show that we can show that we can do more complex shooting.

16/10/12 planning and research- Props

Today I researched about how much all of our props would be to. This makes the pin board look very good and fills it all up nicely this weekend I will buy pin board from wilkinsons as its cheap. Its comming up to half term and we will start filming once astablished the location. We have decide on whos the police lady which will be Clare Atkinson and Matt Adams who will be the dealer.

18/10/10 planning- probs

Planning in the lesson we looked at stero types as today as it was muffty day I was a jock which will be helpful to relate to in the exam but also stero types in our production could help to do with our main character, as she could be resented as yummy mummy or butch female because of her job type. So we need to work out what stero type we could represent her as.

29/10/12 planning
I had some good luck and on my way back from Rome I found a ivory cabinate with confsicated ivory which I did some filming of which we will be using in the production.It is a pan shot of the airport with the ivory

 8/11/12 research
In class we watched the opening Les blue De Ramvillie (the blues of Ramvillie). This helped us get some vital ideas for our project. This was a very impressive opening as it used intrest techniques of editing which created a very professional and intresting feel to it. I research on the props that I need to buy. The ivory that we are going to use will be an 2 ivory bracelets, 2 ivory letter openers and a ivory chess set. We have set a date for the first scene to be filmed which is that our group is now on track. We have finalise all our ideas and most likely will not change them so these are the final ideas.

13/11/12 planning
Today I have ordered the police woman costume, as we will be using it on sunday 18th November as this is the first shoot, it is due to come this friday. We rewrote the story board this was due to the making it more neat. We have descuessed where we are going to do the filming on sunday which will be at london heathrow airport for the first scene.



14/11/12 planning
I worked on the call sheet to compelete it for sundays filming. We wacthed the filming opening delicasent this gave us lots of idea for our production and this will help us with the kind of filming at the airport.


20/10/12 planning
Planning during the past few weeks we have been planning our production scene one which we have now complete at London Heathrow Airport. We brought a female police hat off ebay and the Securty labels off ebay too which a genuine labels, the resason we brought these lables not the police ones was down to we couldnt get hold of a police one this maybe be to British law. The high visible jacket from sports direct and the rest of the costume I alreday owned. We did tracking shots of plans landing and on purposely left a huge amount of space for there to be titles on the scene. Unfortunalty we could not film the character of the police woman as you are not meant to film inside of an airport and people may have thought we were impersinating a police woman. This meant we will have to do the inside airport scene in somewere else. But we maneged to get thoe scene of the police lady comming airport outside of the Hitlon hotel but we had to ensure we kept the logo out of it.

21/11/12 planning
Today in class we are in the process of planning the story board and jumbling it around to fit in with the story. We are making the call sheet for the next scene and planning what props we will be using. We have been watching the filming we have done from Sunday and we are very pleased with it.


22/11/12 planning
Planning the next shoot in the process. this took some descussion on where to do the next film where would be a aproprate loction to do so. That we would also have permison to use.


04/12/12 planning
We decussed about the next set of filming and what shots we are going to do. We made a 2nd call sheet for the next shoot. This has given us the ideas of were excatly it will be shot and that gave us the chance to finalise it.


05/12/12 research

In class we went on art of the title and looked at Dream catcher and six feet under. This gave us ideas on things we could put in the production and also different techniques of how we could present the titles sequiences in. We have the idea of using a mirror and writting the wording backwards and this will come out the right way by doing this. This would create an intresting way of presenting it. I have taken upon the challenge of doing the photoshop task of making the production company, I will have a look for some photos that I could drop behind it and then we will be able to create the name from this. We found a shot with the glass below which we will try and create as it creates a sense of mistery.



11/12/12 planning
Today I went on after effects and found it very challenging. so I went on video copilot to give me guidence and I found this very helpful. This taught me to do the basic thing like importing items to edit and make into the title sequence. I need to talk to my group as they were away, about what the title of the production be. So tomorrow lesson I will talk to my group when they are back. Also get the photo for the background which will get tonight.

18/12/2012 planning
Today we finalised what we will be calling our production company emoray productions and the background image will be sea and we will all hunt for a pciture that we have taken of the sea. We had a go at working on photoshop with text fonts.

16/01/2013 Planning
me and my group have decided to progress on with the filming. So I will do the filming at home with scene of the dressing table. Me and my group havnt got the opointy to meet up for 2 weeks to I will do the filming of the letter scene on my own. Amber and Jenny will do some filming at school so they get a chance to do some so they will do the scene of the hand going into the box using Mrs Mann, pulling out the ivory pieces.

22/01/13 Planning
Today we did the filming for the search in the airport in the box we used 5 peices of ivory which made it very realistic. We used lighting, slr camera and a tripod which helped us get the right shot we now plan to contiune and put it on the mac to edit it for the part of filming that we have done so far and put it all together.

28/01/13 planning

I did the filming on my own as the group were un able to make it to the video shoot. So I carryed on with the filming to compelete the dressing table scene with her writing the letter about her guilt for the ivory that she has in posetion and stolen.

4/02/2013
Today me and amber went to find articles on ivory to include them in our production but we found it hard to find lots of articles. So we plan to do the filming with those articles in half term. unforcantly Jenny could not be with our group today as she was being a bride in the other groups production.

Today I got some articles that had some ivory that we can use in our production. 06/03/13

today in media I carryed on with editing the production as on the 4/03/13 me and my group did the last bit of filming which involved the kitchen scene where she hears something on the radio and shocks her. Then we did the ally way scene which involved her dealing the ivory with some gentleman that hands over a package witht the money in it. Its all very suspious in whats happening down there. We wanted to create suspense and worry with this last bit of filming. In class I carryed on editing this bit of filming and cutting out any bits of filming that we wanted descareded. I am currently in the process for looking for music as we found the right song but it was £35 which the group couldn't pay for as it went over the budget. 21/03/2013

FINALISING OUR SEQUENCE
Today we kept replaying our sequence to make sure that everything was perfect. We realised that the voice over was slightly out of place and we needed to fix that. We also went on Art of the Title to decide which titles we would use. We came to the conclustion that we would use edited by, directed by and director of photography. We have not yet decided where on our film these would go. This all help make the look of the product look more profesional.
